Too pooped to post much more than an appreciation of all the incredible roses at the show today. On the left is a photo of one of the trophy tables.

Is everyone up for the Rose Garden Tour tomorrow?

Rose Convention in the News!

The Arizona Daily Star had a nice 2-page feature in Sunday's Home section about the District Convention. It featured photographs of Terry's, Liz's, and Judy's gardens. Take a look! [link]

And this Thursday at 6:30pm, our Tucson PBS station (KUAT, Ch.6) will have a "video postcard" of member Pam Henderson's garden, and publicity for our show on the Arizona Illustrated broadcast.

KUAT told Judy they will be filming AT the show for a future piece they're going to do on the Rose Society. Thank you KUAT!

RST Member to Speak about History of Roses

Rose Society of Tucson member Lisa Bunker will be the featured "Food for Thought" speaker on April 8th at 12 noon at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library downtown.

Lisa will have a selection of fragrant antique and modern roses from local gardens for everyone to enjoy. She will also show a short video of RST president Terry Swartz's garden, and talk about the history of roses and rose names.

Lisa has been growing roses organically in Tucson for nearly 15 years. Her favorite rose? It's a toss-up between Verdun, William Shakespeare 2000, and Mutabilis.

Bring your lunch, the talk is free. Two-hour free parking validation will be provided for anyone who uses the Library garage located behind the library off of Alameda.

A program of the Pima County Public Library.

KUAT To Film Tucson Rose Gardens

Local Convention publicity is gearing up! The Arizona Daily Star will feature the show on the cover of its Sunday Home and Garden section, and this week KUAT-TV (Channel 6) will be filming several Tucson rose gardens for a montage portion of their piece on the Rose Convention.

Word of mouth is important too. Please tell your friends, co-workers and other fellow gardeners about how special this show will be. Please help spread the word that this is an unparalleled chance to see a huge variety of roses, arrangements, and photography. The show is free and open to the public Saturday the 17th from 1-4pm.
